About David Cole
David has devoted over 20 years in the pursuit of justice throughout Australia. He is focused on Commercial Litigation, Criminal Law, Family Law and Traffic matters.
David is a graduate of the University of Queensland (Bachelor of Laws), University of Melbourne (Graduate Diploma of Military Law) and the Australian National University (Master of Laws).
Following his diverse interest in international issues and law, David studied European Union Law, International Trade Law with Russian and East European Law at the University of Notre Dame Law School, London.
Later David joined the Department of Justice & Attorney-General (Crown Law). He has prosecuted cases throughout Queensland and has gained a unique insight into both sides of the courtroom, making him an ideal choice for clients needing quality criminal defence representation. This experience later proved to be an additional benefit to his law students when David lectured at both Bond University and Southern Cross University in Queensland.
After leaving Crown Law, David worked for the Department of Defence as a Senior Legal Officer in Administrative Law. He maintains a keen interest in Military Law and Veteran Affairs.
In addition to litigation, David is an excellent mediator. He recognises a large part of being a great Criminal Defence Lawyer is being able to resolve client’s problems by reaching an agreement with the other party. He is experienced in assisting enforcement or modifications of existing court orders. These include custody and parenting arrangements as well as grandparents' rights. He is also experienced in obtaining protective orders for victims of domestic violence.
David is well respected by his peers for his thorough understanding of the law. He is well-known for his ability to provide clear, concise legal advice in his practice areas. David is highly professional, approachable, organised and engaged while projecting a calm and professional demeanour.
